You have a choice among companies for your business. If you’re shopping for the best deal, make sure you’ve read the fine print.

We don’t charge hidden 'service fees' or charge extra for locker rental to keep your belongings safe.

Most companies limit availability at peak times for discounts like Groupon so you may find yourself unable to take advantage of the advertised discounts.

Our philosophy is a little different than our competition's. La Jolla Sea Cave Kayaks @ Sea Level is owned and operated by people passionate about our planet and about kayaking as a way to explore amazing marine environments. We value quality above quantity and strive to provide each guest with an empowering experience during which they connect with their personal sense of adventure, nature, friends and family, and inspiring guides.

Our guides are chosen and trained by owner Jen Kleck, the most highly certified kayaking instructor and guide in California. She holds top level awards from both the American Canoe Association and British Canoeing. Jen has been guiding kayak tours to the world famous La Jolla sea caves since 1995. She opened La Jolla Sea Cave Kayaks, LLC in 2005 with long-time La Jolla resident Lance Peto to better serve the increased demand for her tours.

By offering better wages, professional training and a family atmosphere, SCK is able to attract and retain the best guides; many of whom remain loyal members of the team for years.

La Jolla Sea Cave Kayaks @ Sea Level acknowledges that we live and work on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territory of the Kumeyaay people. We recognize that the ocean and marine life are integral to the Kumeyaay culture and we endeavor to steward these resources with respect and care. We honor the Kumeyaay elders past, present and emerging, and commit ourselves to ongoing relationship-building in solidarity with Kumeyaay and all indigenous peoples.

Jen Kleck
Boss
Jen Kleck
Jen is a Managing Member of the LLC. She fell in love with small boats as a kid in New England and began sea kayaking in earnest after moving to San Diego in the early 90's. In order to share her love of this growing sport with others, she took a job as a kayak instructor and guide and began developing her skills in the most challenging conditions she could find on the west coast, Baja, and the UK. She tested herself against the high standards of the American Canoe Association and British Canoeing, becoming the first person in North America to achieve British Canoeing "Level 5 Sea Kayak Coach" status as well as "Advanced Sea Kayak Leader". Jen has been guiding kayaking tours in La Jolla since 1995.

Cyril Walker
Guide
Cyril Walker
Cyril is a true southern Californian - he keeps a surf board at work and can be found shredding the waves when he's not guiding for SCK. Cyril worked as a sea kayaking instructor in Santa Barbara before joining the SCK team 8 years ago. He heads our guide training program and every new employee spends their first day with Cyril to ensure they are off to a solid start. If you find yourself groaning at your guide's jokes, they probably learned them from this guy! Cyril is also a talented artist, painting gorgeous large format abstracts. You can see his work at www.CyrilWalker.com
Jack Cowan
Guide
Jack Cowan
Jack is a So-Cal native, finding his love for the outdoors backpacking in Sequoia National Park and paddling in the Sea of Cortez. He loves blending his hobbies with his employment, often drumming on kayaks out at sea. While pursuing a career in Wilderness Therapy, he brings a cool, calm, and collected attitude to the SCK Team. With Jack as your guide, you are sure to walk away with loads of new knowledge and a greater respect for our wild waters.
